Inspiration Story 23 – Kim

I started taking Destination Fitness classes three months after my son was born. Maternity leave was over and I needed to start wearing “regular” clothes again. My muscles were gone, most everything was flabby, and I had that dreaded “mom butt”. I was nervous walking into that first class because I had no idea how much I would be able to do and did not want to embarrass myself. It turns out I had nothing to worry about.
Julie is everything a trainer/instructor should be. She is positive, energetic, and pushes you to try new things. She embraces outdoor workouts and creates a sense of comradery within the classroom. It is also very obvious that health and fitness are not just Julie’s trade but also her passion. Our classes include a lot of great dialogue and I appreciate her knowledge on fitness, nutrition, and how the body works. Her classes have not only affected my body positively but my mental health and self-esteem as well.
I have been taking classes with Julie for nine months now and am happy to report that the “mom butt” is gone. I am stronger, lighter, and faster than I ever was pre-baby and as I make new fitness goals, Julie is always there with an encouraging word or advice. I truly look forward to my workouts with her and know that her instruction has been one of the keys to my success.
